Delegates to the Minnesota Dental Association House of Delegates
- The delegates and alternates shall be elected annually by ballot to the House of Delegates as determined by the Bylaws of the Minnesota Dental Association.
- A proportional number of delegates and an equal number of alternates shall represent the membership of this Society outside Ramsey County
- The President and the President-Elect and the immediate Past President, at his/her option, shall be members of this delegation.
- The President of the Society shall be the chairperson of the delegation.
- Delegates and alternates are asked to pay for their own expenses at the House of Delegates.
- The SPDDS provides two caucus meals and the MDA provides the reception after the opening session of the House.
Delegates
- Are to have served previously as an alternate.
- May serve six (6) consecutive one-year terms, to be followed by at least a three-year hiatus before being elected again.
- Are expected to attend:
- SPDDS Caucus
- MDA House of Delegates Meeting
- Reference committee meetings at the House of Delegates
- Preparation by reading the Delegation Manual
- Preparation by reporting on an assigned portion of the manual
Alternates
- Are requested to attend:
- SPDDS Caucus
- MDA House of Delegates Meeting if they have not been an alternate or delegate before
- Reference committee meetings at the House of Delegates
- Preparation by reading the Delegation Manual
